Default Re: TV Not working with new nvidia drivers

Possibly same problem here - no output to TV.

Card - WinFast 8400GS (256MB - G86 core)
OS - Ubuntu 10.04 64bit
Driver version: 256.29

I'm trying to configure 2 separate X screens (monitor + TV) - which worked like a charm in my old FX5200 + Ubuntu 9.10. Monitor works fine - resolution 1280x960, and I'm trying to get the TV-output to 800x600

Could someone explain these following oddities in my Xorg.0.log...

Code:
(II) Jun 16 01:11:56 NVIDIA(0): NVIDIA GPU GeForce 8400 GS (G86) at PCI:6:0:0 (GPU-0)
(--) Jun 16 01:11:56 NVIDIA(0): Memory: 524288 kBytes
512megs of GPU memory, and BIOS post messages and the box says that I have 256MB?

Code:
(--) Jun 16 01:11:56 NVIDIA(0): Connected display device(s) on GeForce 8400 GS at PCI:6:0:0:
(--) Jun 16 01:11:56 NVIDIA(0): ViewSonic E95 (CRT-1)
(--) Jun 16 01:11:56 NVIDIA(0): NVIDIA TV Encoder (TV-0)
So probably both display devices are recognized. Doesn't change if using the "ConnectedMonitor" -option or not.

Code:
(--) Jun 16 01:11:56 NVIDIA(1): TV encoder: NVIDIA
(II) Jun 16 01:11:56 NVIDIA(1): TV modes supported by this encoder:
*snip*
(II) Jun 16 01:11:56 NVIDIA(1): 800x600; Standards: NTSC-M, NTSC-J, PAL-M, PAL-BDGHI, PAL-N,
So PAL-B and 800x600 is supported. Then we validate the modes...

Code:
(II) Jun 16 01:11:56 NVIDIA(1): Validating Mode "800x600":
(II) Jun 16 01:11:56 NVIDIA(1): 800 x 600 @ 50 Hz

After that comes the tricky part:

(II) UnloadModule: "nvidia"

(II) UnloadModule: "fb"
Tried adding ModeValidation -options (see the commented line on my xorg.conf) - same thing happens. Unable to validate any modes even on auto-select.

And yes, GPU is not defective.

Does anybody else have this mode validation problem?
