I'm looking to upgrade my video card, and I'm torn between two EVGA GeForce 400 series models:
GeForce GTX 460 SuperClocked (http://www.evga.com/products/moreInf...s%20Family&sw=
GeForce GTX 470 SuperClocked (http://www.evga.com/products/moreInf...s%20Family&sw=
I've searched through various reviews over the past few days and can't find enough information to support a definite conclusion.
The higher clock speeds on the 460 are appealing, but do they make up for the considerable lack of CUDA cores compared to the 470? Also it seems that for running DX11 games (Metro 2033 anyone?) or games at my prefered resolution (1920x1080) the 470 is a stronger card.
(I refuse to play Metro 2033 until I buy one of these cards... and I'd like to run it fairly maxed out.)
The difference in price point isn't a huge concern, unless there truly is a minimal difference in performance. I'd still like to consider temperature at load however, I've burned through a few video cards because of high temps.
Any input on this decision would be greatly appreciated. I'm upgrading from an 8800GTX, if that helps... Thanks in advance!
