It looks like I'm finding the issues are more with the A8N32 SLi Deluxe. You're linking to the standard A8N SLi. I found I do have pretty much the best bios for the 32. It was a pretty sweet board, one of the firsts with full 16x16 SLi. I'm going to go ahead and give them my Vista-Ult and take their Win7 off their hands and install it on here, my gaming rig and see what I think for a while. After some research it looks pretty good. I've already got Vista installed on the Asus and it seems to be flawless. And yeah if XP mode doesn't allow me to run things like directsound without OpenAL then meh. I jump over to Win7 and see how the new drivers sound.
Yeah- my parents have that board as well. Used to be my old gaming rig that I sold them so little sis would have something to frag on.
Ran great under Vista, runs better under 7.
Could be RAM. Could be a number of things other than the board. Or- it could be the board... really hard to say. At this point it's probably just whatever works best that you should go with. If that's Vista than rock Vista. Kinda' like that old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"
