How to use OpenDNS with Network Manager in openSUSE to improve network performance.
Open YaST and got to
Network Settings. In the Global Options tab,
Network Setup Method, click
User Controlled with Network Manager and click OK.
If the Network Manager doesn't start in your panel, just Alt, F2 and run nm-applet(KDE4 uses it's own Network Manager as I know).
Right click the Network Manager icon and click
Edit Connections. Click
Edit on whatever connection you have.
Click on the
IPv4 Settings tab and select,
Method: Automatic (DHCP) Addresses Only.
In the
DNS servers box, add this address.
Code:
208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220
Click Apply and disconnect with the Network manager and reconnect.
Go to this page to test OpenDNS

Not sure about wireless and other types but you can do this directly for your router.
