Welcome to GUADEC live powered by Flumotion and Fluendo, officially the first event worldwide streamed live using the new open WebM format. Within 48 hours of the WebM release the development team at Flumotion integrated the new WebM format into its multi-format streaming technology and created the first live WebM streaming worldwide.
Now, only 8 weeks later, Flumotion and Fluendo are live streaming GUADEC 2010 from encoding to delivery, becoming the first event worldwide that is streamed using the new WebM file format, which was released by Google for open source use last May.
About GNOME and GUADEC
GNOME is a free-software project whose goal is to develop a complete, accessible and easy to use desktop for Linux and Unix-based operating systems. The GNOME desktop is used by millions of people around the world.
The GUADEC conference is at the core of the open source movement and is the biggest gathering of developers of the GNOME project, a desktop environment and graphical user interface, used by businesses and governments worldwide.
