Re: AMD Slashes Prices on Microprocessors
In AMD's case when your pricing is already low a $10 price drop from a $50 chip means that the new price is 20% lower then it was yesterday. In my eyes that is a price slash. at the higher price range say $200 a $22 dollar price drop is about 11% thus the price would not be slashed but still it is not small potatoes either. This news by AMD and if followed by Intel would signal that some of the analyst that claimed an oversupply could be correct. If Intel does not lower prices to match AMD then perhaps the problem is AMDs and not market wide.
