and with:
<match target="font">
<edit mode="assign" name="antialias">
<bool>false</bool>
</edit>
I get:
GtkEntry - time: 0.02
GtkComboBox - time: 1.09
GtkComboBoxEntry - time: 0.90

Amazing! Hell yea! Finally after so long time I can now use my preferred “Tahoma with bitmap-optics” at reasonable speed!

But seriously: I hope NVIDIA now knows to turn on acceleration for both: smoothed and non-smoothed fonts at the same time.

So a cool feature can be turned on: Gui-Elements in Tahoma non-smoothed and all other (more fluid reading purposes) with in fine-smoothed fonts.

System:
openSUSE 11.3
Linux-x86_64
2.6.35.1-12bfs (custom compiled with brainf***scheduler patch)
Xserver 1.9.0 (10900000)
Nvidia 256.52
KDE 4.4 Platform Version 4.5.00 (KDE 4.5.0)
and comipz 0.86
(quad core Q95550; Nvidia 240)
