While the MLAA is nice for games that don't support AA, like GTA4, the new AF is ridiculous. And it even affects 5000 series users.
This is completely not understandable for me. It's the year 2010 and thanks to the crappy consoles and lazy developers the PC hardware is miles ahead of the actual games. Performance is not an issue these days.
It's all about features and image quality. The features are great and with some of them, like 3D or surround gaming, performance becomes a factor again.
But for normal usage, image quality is king and it's exactly here were AMD is messing with the customer again
I found their AF comparisons interesting, but only noticed a real difference in Trackmania. Everything else was beyond negligable.
They tested MLAA wrong. If you up the samples in CCC when enabling MLAA it does MSAAx(samples) + MLAA. It looks like they did 8xMSAA + MLAA. MLAA should not even see as much of a performance hit as 2x MSAA, yet they've shown it having more of a hit than just about any other mode. Big fail on their testing there.
