What I'm interested in (besides the performance boost) is the dedicated performance monitoring circuitry on this card that a lot of reviews are talking about. How is this different from the downclocking already present in the drivers for older cards when the card is idle and on the desktop? Will it also regulate voltage now? Will this cause problems for overclocking, where the power hardware and drivers might shortchange an OC'ed 580 in voltage?
