socket 775 still performs very well considering its age, but the fact that a slower dual core costs more than a superior quad core is beyond me. I know about economics and supply/demand, and that when the supplies run low, the demand rises, and the price spikes. Still, it doesn't make sense. The Phenom II's are competing directly with the core 2's and the low-mid core i3/i5/i7. In that regard the Phenom II's are a steal!

As for SB, it's not really a viable option until intel gets their SATA controller fixed and gets their motherboards back on the market.
