It makes sense to me that 2GB of DDR memory costs $93. There is legacy technology out there that people don't want to completely overhaul so they pay a premium for getting out-dated memory.

The processors being priced that way doesn't make any sense to me. If you can put an E8500 in a board you can put a Q9400 in that board too.

The only thing I can think of is they keep the price there because, while they really don't sell any, if they should happen to come across some person that just doesn't know any better... why not make as much money as you can off of them?
