Default Bug: VPCS13V9E - black VTs once X is started

Virtual terminal sessions (Alt+Fx) properly work as long as X was not started. However, as soon as X starts, every VT screen goes black. Their display can only be restored by rebooting the computer.

Sometimes, randomly, the VT displays are not black, but instead present a couple of large vertical flickering bands of verious shades of grey.

Computer is a VPCS13V9E Sony laptop running Debian/unstable. NVIDIA drivers version is 260.19.36.

Anybody got ideas on how I could solve this? Thanks in advance!
