and built that. I also force reinstalled the x server since I had messed around with the Nvidia proprietary drivers and they overwrite some of the files that the nouveau driver uses.
This produces a system with stable accelerated 2D and a working i2c implementation which lets me switch between the Dreamcolor presets and/or disable the dreamcolor engine entirely. I don't have the laptop with me right now but I will post up my kernel config and xorg.conf file later today when I have it.
No need to "build" a kernel.
You can add the stable kernel repository to opensuse and install the latest stable kernel. (18.104.22.168)
