So I'm looking at buying maybe the HD6990, GTX 570 SLI or the GTX590 (or what ever it will be called when it comes out)... but my mobo is this:
EVGA nForce 750i FTW SLI Mobo (Model#123-YW-E175-A1)
and my current CPU is this
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Yorkfield 2.83GHz LGA775
So what I'm trying to figure out is:
1. What is the best CPU I can install in my mobo, that's under $300? I know little to nothing about CPU's
2. Will the CPU in #1 bottleneck my PC give the GPU's I'm looking at or can I but a CPU in my current mobo that will be a decent match for one of the above GPU's mentioned?
So in other words, I'd like to get either the HD6990, , GTX 570 SLI or the GTX590, but should I upgrade my mobo and CPU?? I'd really hate to have to upgrade them again, but at the same time I don't want to shell out the cash on a nice GPU only to have my CPU chocking it...
I sorted all the LGA 775 socket CPU's at Newegg, if that helps...
LGA 775 socket CPU's
Will be wanting to play games like Crysis 2 and Skyrim...
Any advice would be appreciated... thanks.
