FWIW, we did look at the inability to light up the eDP panel (as well as unavailability of the highest p-state(s)) and root-caused it to a system-level problem outside the NVIDIA driver. More specifically, there's an interaction problem between the ACPI DSDT as defined by the system's SBIOS and the Linux kernel's ACPI subsystem. It's unclear at this time if the SBIOS or the Linux kernel is at fault - we'll report back once we know for sure.
