From my understanding dual-GPU is (compared to SLI) more stable, less hassles, requries less power and is upgradable to SLI in the future...

Actually dual-gpu is the exact same thing as sli, it's just done on one card. You'll have all the benefits and all the drawback's of an SLI system with the 590.
