Default Re: Linux, Laptop, GeForce 8600M GT, dual-head nvidia and two external monitors

no luck, 8600M GT and the latest X-server & nVidia drivers have the same problem...

It looks like it is a problem with EDID parsing/reading, more specifically with calculation/verification ModeLine parameters...
I found a lot of links like this one:
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=105630

By playing with different ModeLines (use reduced mode for cvt: "cvt -r ....") and disabling of using EDID in nvidia driver (UseEDID, ModeValidation, ExactModeTimingsDVI, etc), I were able to get two external monitors connected by CRT-0 and DFP-1 work in low resolution 640x480 & 640x480... but not in 1920x1200 & 1920x1200 then I gave up, since I do not use this laptop as my workstation any more...
