I stand up for Nvidia... when they make a good product. I don't think the GTX 590 is a good product. Its performance is fine, but its lack of power regulation circuitry is a travesty. Nvidia believes that all of that performance can be controlled via drivers as opposed to hardware-based power regulation. That's already bit them in the ass once. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again.

In this case, AMD got it right by using hardware-based power regulation. Yea, it made the card bigger and noisier due to the increased circuitry and heat, but it means the product will last longer. It's just a string of compromises from both companies.

The GTX 590 could have been a lot better than it actually was. End of story.
