Same behaviour with gnome3 on Fedora 15 with GeForce GT 520.
When gnome freezes, many error messages with I/O erros reportet on the Virtual Terminal.
A restart is then necessary. Gnome3 and NVidia driver runs stable only in the fail-saife-mode.
