Seems that the sandy bridge E chips are running into difficulties with the built in PCI-e 3.0 controler according to some sites, wich may cause delays with it's introduction....Just a rumor,but could be real:

It kinds makes sense since it seems bulldozer is no threat to the current higher end 6 core processors in performance terms, so there's no reason to rush the sandy bridge-E to the market, especially if there's still issues with the PCI-e 3.0 feature, but then again, it makes it tempting for intel to skip sandy bridge-E's and go straight to 8 core,22 nm ivy bridges....
