If they're all the same, there are less issues with development.
If they're all different, you have to design the product to work with EVERY configuration.
Do you see where an in-game server browser for PC games might cause some issues? It caused a TON of issues for the first 6 months after BC2 was released. I really don't want another rehash of that **** again. However, a web-based browser means that the net-code is the same on all systems, regardless of hardware configuration. Therefore, there will be less issues for PC gamers.
Wow. Nice defense. Maybe the game should be DirectX 8 and have really low res textures. I mean, that way more systems can run it.
