Default Re: Problem with nVidia Quadro NVS 300 on Linux

Hi Pavel,
I had a similar problem. The problem is that the driver does not read the edid informationcorrectly from the monitor via dvi-d. The xorg log-file says something like check sum inkorrekt. My workaround is to connect the monitor by a display-port cable or by a dvi-i to vga adapter and a vga cable. With the vga cable I could start a uniti session in 1920x1200. In thid session I use the vvidia configurator to store the edid information into a file(get-edid does not work for me). Than I change the xorg.conf to load thid file ( option LoadCustomEdid <path to file> or so.) . With this Hack I can connect my monitor via dvi-d and have the native :.

Sorry for the incomplte Information but I am sitting in train and not all details are in my brain.

I hope it's helps.

Andreas
