I am still encountering this problem and I do not know what to do to fix it. I am currently running driver version 285.03. Honestly, at this point I am willing to setup my machine so that one of the nvidia devs can ssh into it and take a look at what is going on.

I am going to try and upgrade to the latest prerelease version now but It does not seem like the problem is going to solve itself.

Though for the first time ever just then the CPU usage just went back down after going up. I am so confused, I have no idea why X is doing that. It was just high for about twenty minutes.
