Most people who buy PC's don't look at CPU benchmarks, etc. They look at marketing info. "4.2Ghz 8-core AMD FX Processor" looks a lot better than "3.8GHz 4-core Intel i7 Processor". In addition to looking like the more powerful computer the AMD system will be cheaper than the Intel system.
