Default Re: [GNOME] gnome-shell/mutter/clutter unusably SLOW: 173xx

@codypop:
Here is my xorg.conf (I've added some options from yours)
Code:
Section "ServerLayout"
	Identifier	"Layout0"
	Screen	0	"Screen0"
	InputDevice	"Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
	InputDevice	"Mouse0" "CorePointer"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
	# generated from default
	Identifier	"Mouse0"
	Driver "mouse"
	Option "Protocol" "auto"
	Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
	Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no"
	Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
	# generated from default
	Identifier	"Keyboard0"
	Driver "kbd"
EndSection

Section "Monitor"
	Identifier	"Monitor0"
	VendorName	"Unknown"
	ModelName	"Unknown"
	HorizSync	30-83
	VertRefresh	57-76
	Option "DPMS"
EndSection

Section "Device"
	Identifier	"Device0"
	#Driver "nouveau"
	Driver "nvidia"
	Option "RandRRotation" "true"
	Option "NoLogo" "true"
	Option "DPI" "96x96"
	Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "true"
	Option "AllowGLXWithComposite" "1"
	Option "UseEvents" "false"
	Option "DamageEvents" "1"
	Option "Coolbits" "1"
	VendorName	"NVIDIA Corporation"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
	Identifier	"Screen0"
	Device "Device0"
	Monitor "Monitor0"
	DefaultDepth 24
		SubSection	"Display"
			Depth	24
			Modes	"1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
		EndSubSection
EndSection
Nothing to do, same poor performances.

The real issue is that not only gnome-shell is unusable but all of the stuffs using clutter are unusable too. Playing videos with latest totem, for example, is like watching a slideshow.

I would prefer a clear "we are not going to fix that s**t, upgrade your old system" but it seems I'll have to up the topic until the end of time.
