But since there are no cards around to test it in a real world environment, Intel doesn't officially support 3.0. But the hardware theoretically.
Would have been a horrible release otherwise. Intel had to cut most of the planned features for the desktop version of SNB-E but they at least keep the PCIe 3.0 compatibility.
