It is possible to compile the code for both architectures. That may be what they already do with most console-ported games.
I mean realistically, we're a GUI away from this being true. But there would still be PC-only discs, and 360-only discs.

Maybe this was already mentioned but why have the CPU do it- why not offload it entirely to the GPU? I'm thinking utilizing CUDA or OpenCL or what not. Not really versed on the ins-and-outs of that stuff but just curious if it'd work. I mean a single GTX580 is how many times faster by itself than the X360 as a whole? Not to mention a GTX560, and so on.
