Yes, the install of the driver, does NOT change the XF86Config(-4) file. This has to be done manually. The Nvidia readme file should give you some pointers on how that's done. Plus a browse of this forum should help you too. (You should be able to find the documentation in /usr/share/doc/NVIDIA_GLX-1.0 directory after the driver is installed)
