Keep in mind he does have a good point going, as a triple crossfire HD7970 setup is 1650$ + tax and shipping, while a single HD7990 and a single HD7970 would be pretty damn close to the same performance, even if the dual GPU card doesn't overclock as well, and save me 250$.(1400 total)
250$ less isn't chump change anymore, and would be enough to buy the water blocks for both cards, and free up an extra PCI-e X16 slot on the motherboard....That's about the main difference with AMD drivers in that you can connect a dual GPU with a single GPU card of the same generation, and still get triple crossfire working that way....It doesnt need to be 3 indentical cards....Do Nvidia drivers allow to do the same thing?
