Shoot'em if you like, but I'd never use a 3g phone by choice.
Maybe 3G works different between US and AU, but on a mobile device I don't notice the difference between 3G and 4G, it's both lightning quick. I can understand tethered on a laptop downloading something of Steam for example.
Here our 3G maxes out at roughly 20Mbps, 4G at 40Mbps, so I know the difference is there, just not anything a smartphone can make use of.
