I hate RPG's but I love Mass Effect.

Deus Ex is slightly more RPG-ish than Mass Effect. The main difference I find is that in Deus Ex the wrong upgrades may lead you to a dead end.

At first I used my praxis points for cool stuff I wanted but later I found I couldn't hack anything because I didn't have enough points invested in hacking. I had to go back a long way to a previous save. I never had to do that in Mass Effect.

I learned my lesson. Now I don't upgrade unless I find a situation where I really need a certain upgrade. That first boss battle with the merc was tough until I used the cloak aug.

I must say the hacking mini game in this game is so much better than those in Bioshock and Mass Effect.
