Do you mean, besides the actual box, manual, cd, and all the other "hard" items you get for no extra cost when you pre-order the actual game, and not just pay some huge amount for only a download?
I'm assuming I misunderstood your question.
In the case of my "pre-order" of Diablo 3, I'll be playing on May 15, and I will have the box and its contents for the same amount that you paid.
TBH, I don't get digital downloading, unless it is heavily discounted.
