I have got the same problem with my toshiba! I wrote to nVidia support and sent them my log file - but I haven't got answer yet
If I use default drivers shipped with fedora - I have got 1024x800 (and 1280x960 on second CRT) but when I usu oryginal drivers from nVidia - I have got only 800x600
