Default VESA framebuffer not supporting 1024x768 when TV-out enabled

Geforce4 MX 440 SE

This card is capable of displaying a resolution of 1024x768 on the TV AND the TFT-Display. However, if during the boot proccess a TV is plugged in, the card's VESA Bios does not offer a 1024 x 768 mode anymore, but I need this resolution for the linux vesa framebuffer driver.

There are several solutions to this problem, but the only realistic one is this :

I need to disable TV-out in the card's BIOS. Does anybody know where ( offset ) in the 4.17.xx nVidia BIOS I can set a bit / byte to choose whether tv-out should be en- / disabled at boot time ? ( At least a nVidia developer should have this information available - I would be very happy if you could tell me )

------------------------------------------

Unrealistic solutions are :
1. Hope that the linux kernel's riva framebuffer driver works with nVidia's driver so that this non-vesa driver can offer a 1024x768 resolution
2. Hope that nVidia offers an update for the Geforce4 BIOS / VBE which makes available the 1024x768 video mode even threw the vesa interface
