well, for some reason (i have *no* idea why), there are 2 versions of the codes for framebuffer. the one that i use is a bit more complicated. i personally use 0x31B -- which is 16M colors at 1280x1024. here's some links:

i used to have more, but that's all i can find. they are most likely the best though, they explain in detail framebuffer.
also remember there is documentation that comes with framebuffer packages, that's generally the best to follow by.
