Default 1.0-5336 Nvidia Driver Broken on Fedora Core 2 Final

Just upgraded to Fedora Core 2 and the nvidia driver is broken. After upgrading, I re-installed the nvidia-5336 driver. It recompiled itself and installed without any errors. The reboot failed and crashed. I tried it with smp and mono kernels. After about 3 reboots, I got fed up and uninstalled the driver with nvidia-installer --uninstall and then updating the /etc/X11/XF86Config file to select the generic nv driver eg

Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "nv"
VendorName "Videocard vendor"
BoardName "NVIDIA Quadro 4 (generic)"

Saw some threads that say the problem is related to the new 2.6 kernel paramters.

The problem is fixed by downloading a non-fedora kernel and compile with the following parameters

(note n means NO)

Recompile the kernel, install as default and then re-run the nvidia-5336 install and change the XF86Config file back.

This is supposed to fix the problem.

Perhaps someone can let the Nvidia Support people know - I certainly could not find any contact / bug reporting channel.
