Default Solved

Alright, after some more googleing, i found a config file that works. Here's how it works: When you want regular lcd at high res, start the x server without the video dongle connected. When you want tv-out, plug the dongle in, log out of K, then when you get to the graphical logon, press "control-alt-backspace" to restart the X server. That should make the switch. Both the lcd and the tv will be at 800x600.

See my specs above, if you have the same setup, you may want to just replace this file with yours. However, always make backups of the config file!!! Before you make a change, do something like this to make a copy:

$ cp /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.backup

Then if X fails completely, just run

$ mv /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.backup XF86Config-4

and your old configuration will be put back

I hope this helps!
