The reason they probably took the blood out for the U.S. version is so they could maintain a "T" rating which helps the game sell more copies, especially at stores like Wal-Mart. I've seen this before ... why do you think all the RPGs from Bioware are "T" now (IWD2, KOTOR, NWN)? Helps sell more copies!
