Default nvidia driver and redhat-config-xfree

I tried to install nvidia driver for Nvidia graphic card GeForce FX 5200 Ultra but sometimes (it seems to happen ramdomly) the redhat-config-xfree86 software overwrite the settings in the XF86Config file: changing Driver "nvidia" into Driver "nv", adding "Load dri" .... So the nvidia driver is not loaded in that case, and I have to re-write my XF86Config file.

What is responsible for this? I cannot find in the init.d directory what is the script which call this (bad) configurator out of date.

I run Fedora Core 1.

Thank you

PS I will be interrseted in a sample of "good" XF86Config file for this particular card.
