I have no problems with my FX5700, and it do's DX9 110% thank you very much. So in answer to the original question, I dont think the FX series was a failure, far from it. TBH, anybody having DX9 issues with an FX card really should think about RMA'ing there card, as I know DX9 is a key feature of my card.
