problem solved. I just had to open /etc/x11/xdm/xservers and then add '-dpi 100' to the line :0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X -deferglyphs 16. Now everything looks just nice :-)

glad to hear... I was searching for a solution for you... but didn't find any yet... (was thinking that maybe you could set your screen to 72 dpi on your xorg.conf...)
