Well, I got a Radeon 9700 to look over, and Linux just refuses to work with ATI's drivers.
That is, apparently the built-in agpgart module doesn't appear to support my brand-new nForce2, and, obviously, neither does ATI's. ATI's drivers utterly fail with no AGP support, apparently. So, I'm currently looking at a 60Hz display with no GL support. Anyway, I'm going to start a new thread to see if I can get some help in getting AGP to go...
Btw, first impression: ATI's fwglxconfig is pretty cruddy at setting of the XF86Config file.
