Wow, I actually got these drivers compiled and installed - but I'll spare you the dirty hacking details to veer around the multiple compilation errors that came up. There are problems with certain versions of GCC apparently.

So far, X refuses to launch though.

That's at least a major improvement since I couldn't even compile the first Linux drivers ATI ever made available. I need to go deeper into that, but with my GF4 acting up I'm kinda fed up with graphic cards for today.
