I dont even know if either card will run well under those high settings with large battles.

Right, all I had at that time was the demo though. I don't have the full version of R:TW but if there's enough interest for it to be benched in reviews I'll probably get it. It does seem to be a very CPU bound game though.
Yes, I do think the 6800 Ultra will have the slight advantage up to 1600x1200 w/ 4xAA and 8xAF. That opinion is based on my past experience with both cards
You raise a good question about the larger battles. I've yet to confirm whether or not R:TW takes advantage of geometric instancing. If so, that could give the performance nod to the 6800 cards.
