Even if this was true, which I doubt, it's called a warranty.
If you read all the replies to people who have received bad monitor's Dell has taken VERY GOOD care of them by overnighting them a replacement.
Some people who are VERY anal and want perfection have had 5 replacements sent to them without a question.
The monitors are shipped overnight while you keep your current one and you ship it back in the box they sent the new one.
That to me in customer service!
I got mine for $637 which I thought was an awesume deal and that was only two weeks ago. I'm SERIOUSL considering getting another one for the bedroom to watch DVD's movies through my Shuttle HTPC.
This monitor is SOOOO worth it!
