To start the thread, some of my experiences...

If you have problems with undefined agp symbols during the installation you have to do a "modprobe agpgart" before starting the installer. (Otherwise the installer will issue strange errors like missing agp... symbols or complain about wrong module format of nvidia.ko)

For Mandrake 10.1 I always saw a strange line in the xorg.conf that tries to explicitly load libglx.a specifying the complete path:

Load "/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libglx.a"

This line can simply be replaced by the following line:

Load "glx" # 3D layer

For widescreen notebooks you should try adding your own modeline and use the

Option "IgnoreEDID" "true"

option (see NVIDIA readme) to get it working for exotic screen resolutions (e.g. 1280x800). Otherwise you'll get a "no screens found" error while starting X.

For a 1280x800 widescreen, you can use:

# mode generated with modelinegenerator
Mode "1280x800"
DotClock 75.42
HTimings 1280 1304 1384 1520
VTimings 800 803 806 827

What about mandrake 10.2? Did anybody have similar experiences?
