I'm sorry but you have no basis to say "avoid at all cost". The laser mice have been extensively tested, by people that know how to judge and have been given nothing but praise. Never a mention of the non-sense you are describing.
On the subject of non-sense...I've read this line about 10 times; and can't for the life of me figure out what you are trying to say.

This is just to explain exactly what I mean.
The fact of the matter is, I have this negative acceleration even in desktop. I tried different mouse and USB drivers, and none helped get rid of it.
The suck.
