Look friend, it's very simple.
Load up a game.
then put the mouse on the pad touching a solid object fixed in place on the left hand side. Then move the mouse quickly to the right. Bring it back slowly to left until it touches that solid object. Did the crosshair/cursor end up in the same place where it started out?
If it moved further to the left from where you started, you have negative accel. If it didn't quite make it back, it's positive accel. If it ends up in the same place = no accel.
This mouse (G5) has negative accel in hardware.
