The CC that you see is just another name for gcc. (same as g++).
Just run cc --version to verify it.
I can verify this for 6.0-RELEASE amd64:

Very curious as to what these "VM" functions nVidia needs are all about. I run BSD exclusively for my dev/testing/production boxes, and not being able to use dual monitors under amd64 is worse than annoying.
Come on nVidia. 64-bit environments aren't the future; they've been the present for a while now.
