I know a little bit about how synthetic benches run, and I also know hyper threading that intel uses helps achieve higher scores in cpu test, but it can only being taken with a measured ammount of regard, most of us if not all of us are primarily concerned about how our cpu's performance is going to effect actual game programs and not how well our processor can do multi tasking, to the best of my knowledge hyper threading in no way shape or form enhances or produces any measurable advantage over a cpu that does not ht capability in game performance, sure you do get an inflated score on a "synthetic bench", but dare I say just because an Intel scores higher then a comparable AMD cpu doesn't mean sqaut to the game irl. IMHO...excuse while I go and get my nomex coat...
